History and various uses of perennial, semi-arid/arid beans from Southwestern USA. Phaseolus metcalfei/maculatus and Phaseolus ritensis. Also known by native peoples as: cocolmeca (root) and frijolillos (beans/seeds), some natives call them "brush tepary" or "mountain tepary," though they do not seem to be true tepary beans.
